Dispute Resolution Conference

Dispute Resolution Conference

September 22, 2015 By Janko Predovic

Mediation and other forms of collaborative decision-making continue to expand in their application across all areas of legal practice in BC. One consequence of this growth is the increasing recognition by counsel that mediation and mediation advocacy skills are unique from traditional litigation skills, and require training and practice plus the opportunity for significant reflection on the ways in which some of these processes impact both individual clients and our understanding of fairness in process and outcome. Yet it continues to be incredibly difficult for new practitioners to gain experience and for senior practitioners to find rigorous and challenging opportunities for continuing professional development.

This year’s Dispute Resolution Conference is designed to address both of these needs. Sessions will focus on three broad areas of interest for both dispute resolution practitioners and those in related or intersecting fields.

Who should attend? All DR professionals and lawyers who act as counsel in mediation.
