Susan Stapleton, Registered Clinical Counsellor

Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC)

Susan brings a compassionate, understanding and empathetic personality to her work as a Divorce Coach and Child Specialist. She runs a private counselling practice focused on children’s therapy.

Susan was a Psychiatric Social Worker for nearly four years, and she was a Probation Officer for six years before that, working to keep a variety of offenders and families on the right side of the law. She has witnessed first-hand the effect of the Court system on families. Susan has extensive experience producing reports for use in court proceedings, such as pre-sentence reports and psycho-social assessments. She is available to produce Section 211 reports for determinations of parenting arrangements in family law litigation; these reports are more commonly referred to as Custody/Access Reports and Views of the Child Reports.

Susan attended Simon Fraser University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology in 2003. She completed a Master’s Degree in Clinical Counselling at Yorkville University in 2012. Her practicum was completed at a youth custody centre where she honed her clinical skills with young people who have had run-ins with the law.

Susan attends meetings of the Collaborative Divorce Group (Vancouver) as often as she can, and in her spare time enjoys touring wineries, baking and travelling.
